They're whimsical. They're fun. They're an easy way out when attending costume parties or for Halloween. They're probably not in your regular rotation. 80's Tees used to have whole lot of
Starwars costume shirts, but I think George Lucas must have gone cease and desist on them, because this Chewbacca shirt is one of the few surviving designs.

Love the color and the style of the Cephalopod Attack tee from TopatoCo. Couldn't help but notice that our friend the octopus was missing from the earlier post with the list of proper names for groups of animals. I couldn't find one anywhere else either -- I'd like to suggest a tangle of octopi.
The Ahab vs Dick shirt over at Split Reason is a great arcade fighter remix of some classic literature. I hear Dick has a killer finishing move.
If you make an owl from other of owls (a meta-owl?) you get the Parlimentary Party t-shirt from Owl Movement. Other names (aside from parliment) for a group of owls: a wisdom, or a stare. Read many other funny animal group names here. Seriously, I think 1/2 of them are just made up.
The We Are Just Pixels After All shirt @ Threadless was up for the best tee of the year @ the Bestees Awards -- It didn't win, but it shouldn't be passed over. I love shirts that are variations of iconic images, like this familiar map projection of the world. Get lost in the details in the design up close, or admire the aggregate atlas image from afar.

Why play rock paper scissors, when you can play rock paper scissors lizard spock? The victory flow chart for this geeky game is available from this new shirt at Think Geek. This was featured on the TV show "Big Bang Theory", but I prefer my own rock-paper-scissors variation I made as a kid, which featured such signs as "dynamite" and "magic bunny".
I've never seen anyone so happy to have butter smeared all over their face. The snack-tacular "Pancakes" t-shirt design is from Sharing Machine (the same people who do the "Toothpaste for Dinner" web comic.) This happy little stack of flap-jacks' optimistic little grin is contagious -- I smile every time I look at it. Mmmmmmm, pancakes.
The eternal cephalopod / cetacean family feud is beautifully featured on the Squid vs. The Whale shirt available at Threadless. I'm not a fan of white t-shirts, and that's the only color this design is available on, but I think I can make an exception this once.
At the age of 28, pac-man is dead. He was survived by Ms. Pac-Man, Inky, Pinky and Blinky. Also found dead (again) : Clyde. Mourne in style with the Pac-Bones t-shirt from Psycho Reindeer.
